Model 05 : "CRANKER"
Nine-pin bowling, established by the religious leader Luther in Germany in the early 19th century, was brought to America by European immigrants in the 17th century. As a result of its popularity in America, it became a subject of gambling and was forced to be banned, but by getting around a loophole in the law and adding one more pin, ten-pin bowling, which is still used today, was born. From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, global rules were established and bowling became standardized.
It is believed that the first leather shoes specifically for bowling were made around the 1880s. The characteristic split toe is thought to have been established as the spacing between the feathers gradually became closer at the toe from the 1930s to the 1950s.
The split toe, famous as a design of the bowling shoe, is an excellent design that allows fine adjustment of the fit while also providing reinforcement, as the eyelets can be attached as close as possible to the toe, and has a simple yet unique presence.
Model 05: “CRANKER” is based on the iconic split toe design, with a thread-wrapped collar, a two-tone dyed heel, curled edges and a seamless back.
